The ZymoBIOMICS DNA Miniprep Kit is designed for unbiased purification of microbial DNA from a wide range of sample types, producing DNA that is immediately ready for microbiome or metagenomic analyses. The ZymoBIOMICS lysis system minimizes bias associated with differential lysis efficiencies across diverse organisms, including Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and algae. Uniform mechanical lysis is achieved through bead beating with ultra-high density BashingBeads.

The kit incorporates OneStep PCR Inhibitor Removal Technology, enabling reliable PCR amplification from inhibitor-rich environmental samples. The resulting DNA is suitable for all downstream applications, including PCR, arrays, 16S rRNA gene sequencing, and shotgun metagenomic sequencing. Typical DNA fragment sizes range from 15 to 20 kb.
